The historic cinema was built in 1927 by Yaacov Mograbi, at the request of mayor Meir Dizengoff. The cinema was planned by architect Joseph Berlin, and was one of the symbols of the city of Tel Aviv due to the central part that the cinema played in community life. The building’s facade was made of exposed silicate bricks and vertical Art Deco windows, giving it a unique majesty. The Mograbi-Arditi group will build a mixed-use tower on this lot, replacing this symbol of Tel Aviv, which burned down in the 1980s.
